About Domenic
Domenic has had a keen passion for politics since first grade. In middle school, he was the most involved representative on the Student Council Committee, and he was known for his leadership. He has worked and/or volunteered for six candidates who ran for national, state, and local positions, and he currently works for four of them. He has also met with several well-known politicians, including Candidate for President, Governor Mitt Romney, and former Presidential Candidate, Senator John McCain. In his middle school yearbook, he was voted the student with the best chance of beating Barack Obama in the upcoming election. His goal in life is to become a successful politician. Last year, Domenic was elected both Student Council President by his peers and National Junior Honor Society President by his teachers.
Domenic is an extremely hard worker. In fifth grade, he started his own successful eBay business, and he still continues it today. eBay considers him a "Top Rated Power Seller." He has won the Superintendent's Student Recognition Award for his hard work in improving his school and community. One boy and one girl from his school were picked to receive this honorable award. As President of the National Junior Honor Society, he was required to do 12 hours of community service, but he voluntarily did over 48 hours. He won his school's Community Service Award and three Service Awards.
Domenic enjoys anything that has to do with Social Studies, especially geography. He has won his middle school geography bee twice, and this year, he placed tenth in the state in Connecticut's National Geographic Bee. Roughly 100,000 Connecticut students competed in this contest. Along with geography, Domenic also has a passion for foreign languages. He is taking two languages this year, French 2 and Italian. Italian was actually his first language. He has also taught himself Spanish, and he has taken Chinese in middle school. During each year of middle school, Domenic was the top student in his foreign language class.
Even though it's only the beginning of the school year, Domenic has gotten quite involved in the Holy Cross community. He is the only Freshman on the Presidents' Council, as a result of Italian Club. He was also a representative for the magazine drive, and he was selected to be a Holy Cross Tour Guide. Along with what is listed above, Domenic has joined a multitude of clubs and activities such as the Freshman Committee, Helping Hands Club, Mock Trial Club, Spanish Club, Bocce Club, Chess Club, and the Crusader Olympics.
